What will you be doing as our new Site Agent?
Our Site Agents will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, reporting to the Project Delivery Manager they will be responsible for:
- Management and awareness of all aspects of day to day site production for the satisfactory completion of specific elements of the project, including resource management, forward planning and communication with their teams.
- Ensure all operations adhere to both legislative and SPA guidelines for health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and are delivered within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the appropriate standards, specifications and regulatory requirements.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
We are looking for engaged and passionate Site Agents who:
- Can demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work, preferably with experience of working on large diameter pipelines within the water sector.
- Understand the benefits of a production based approach and how this can deliver differently.
- Are excellent communicators who can passionately share SPA’s vision to both their teams and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering & Integration team to help deliver the most holistic solutions.
- Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and work well within the team structure!

Apprenticeships at JN Bentley are hands-on from day one; with a dedicated mentor to support your development throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to work out on site and develop key skills in civil engineering and construction operations.
What you’ll do
- Getting involved in hands on practical work as well as supervisory activities to build our skills and knowledge.
- You will help integrate the design, construction and commissioning of plant and equipment mainly within the Water sector by bringing your mechanical, electrical and/or process skills to practical benefit.
- You will help play a vital in planning and programming of the MEP aspects of the projects we deliver; working with design and operational teams to support the design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of projects.
During the construction phase of projects you will work closely with our site managers to deliver projects. Duties include
- Quality – overseeing installation subcontractors, ensuring the installation is constructed to the approved designs & engineering standards. Ensuring the final product meets our & client’s requirements – testing, commissioning, fault finding & producing completion documentation.
- Safety – reviewing Risk Assessments & Method Statements, ensuring works are carried out in line with these. Overseeing electrical safety on site & ensuring procedures are being implemented correctly.
- Commercial – helping to ensure projects are deliver to time and budget.
- Contractual – understanding and working to client & suppliers contract conditions.
- Documentation – producing Commissioning Documentation, in the form of, Commissioning Plan, Inspection & Test Plan, Factory Acceptance & Site Acceptance, Training material and completions documentation.

- Off the job training at your local office. However, they may be some training which may involve staying away from home.
Candidate Specification
- 5 GCSE grades A-C (9-4), must include English and Maths.
- A valid driving license is essential.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across your operational region.
