- Do you have experience of installation & commissioning both electrical and mechanical assets?
- Have experience of working to electrical procedures?
- Have you got experience of mechanical and electrical commissioning within the utility sector and commercial building sectors with a proven record with planning the commissioning process?
You will be working on various mechanical and electrical projects within water & wastewater, treatment plant, flood defence along with general design and build commercial M & E projects throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commissioning services including full documentation, carrying out commissioning activities and manage supplier / contractor commissioning. Attend Factory Acceptance Testing, String Testing where applicable and assist the project team with project completions
- Be involved in assisting designers develop new and refurbishment works for a large building portfolio and processing and manufacturing facility
- Involvement in the installation and commissioning of projects from design to conception and interfacing with clients
- Work within the team of MEP engineers to develop best practice, a strong health & safety environment and value for money

Apprenticeships at JN Bentley are hands-on from day one; with a dedicated mentor to support your development throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to work out on site and develop key skills in civil engineering and construction operations.
What you’ll do
- Getting involved in hands on practical work as well as supervisory activities to build our skills and knowledge.
- You will help integrate the design, construction and commissioning of plant and equipment mainly within the Water sector by bringing your mechanical, electrical and/or process skills to practical benefit.
- You will help play a vital in planning and programming of the MEP aspects of the projects we deliver; working with design and operational teams to support the design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of projects.
During the construction phase of projects you will work closely with our site managers to deliver projects. Duties include
- Quality – overseeing installation subcontractors, ensuring the installation is constructed to the approved designs & engineering standards. Ensuring the final product meets our & client’s requirements – testing, commissioning, fault finding & producing completion documentation.
- Safety – reviewing Risk Assessments & Method Statements, ensuring works are carried out in line with these. Overseeing electrical safety on site & ensuring procedures are being implemented correctly.
- Commercial – helping to ensure projects are deliver to time and budget.
- Contractual – understanding and working to client & suppliers contract conditions.
- Documentation – producing Commissioning Documentation, in the form of, Commissioning Plan, Inspection & Test Plan, Factory Acceptance & Site Acceptance, Training material and completions documentation.

Candidate Specification
- 5 GCSE grades A-C (9-4), must include English and Maths.
