EICA Regional Lead
- Job Role: EICA Regional Discipline Lead – Water Projects
- Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + Benefits package
- Location: South East | Rickmansworth
My client is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a EICA Regional Discipline Lead -based at Maple Lodge working on the Thames Water framework, with hybrid working available. You will report directly to the Regional Engineering Lead and will have responsibility for the technical leadership of the discipline in region, ensuring that the technical discipline is the right size and shape and has the correct competencies and capacity in region. You will also ensure that the standard design practices are applied in region and contribute to the development of the discipline.
About the Role:
- Provides technical leadership of the discipline in region.
- Ensures that the technical discipline is the right size and shape, has the correct competencies and capacity in region.
- Ensure standard design practices are applied in region and contribute to the development of the discipline.
- Provide all regional discipline members with the opportunity to develop and progress.
- People Management:
- Duty of care in discipline in region.
- Training & Development Planning in discipline in region.
- Staffing levels and personnel management in discipline in region.
- Long term staffing/succession plans in discipline in region
- Staff performance reviews/PDRs in discipline in region
- Engineering Discipline Management:
- Application of strategic design philosophy in discipline in region.
- Competency management in discipline in region.
- Technical quality in discipline in region.
- Task time requirements (estimates) in discipline in region.
- Application of task delivery methods and toolsets in discipline in region
- Allocation of best-fit, competent staff to projects in region.
- The use of common, secure, information management systems in discipline in region.
- Operational Management:
- Contributing to definition and implementing technical strategy in discipline.
- Contributing to discipline productivity
- Tactical technical risk in discipline in region.
- Client relationships and service management in discipline in region.
About you
Essential
- Experience of technical design in a design-build environment.
- Experience in the water treatment industry.
- Experience in leading and managing discipline design teams.
- Degree in a discipline-related subject, or substantial experience.
- Must be quality-driven with the ability to set targets, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Technical and design skills.
- Able to identify and manage project technical risk.
Desirable
- Experience of leading remote/geographically-dispersed teams
- Chartered engineer.

- Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 (depending on level of experience)
- Location: Hybrid working (and offices in Halifax, Glasgow, Warrington, Derby and Birmingham)
The projects are covering all aspects of Wastewater and Water networks, and treatment facilities through the project lifestyle from feasibility design through to detailed design and construction. These roles offer hybrid working with the opportunity to work out of one of their key offices based in Halifax, Glasgow, Warrington, Derby and Birmingham.
About the role:
- Implement the project requirements to fully meet the clients specification in accordance with relevant standards
- Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence
- Be confident to work under minimum supervision and competent to check the work of others and supervise less experienced or junior staff
- Carry out site visits and surveys and inspections
- Prepare and check feasibility studies, inspection, assessment and technical reports and other written documents in an appropriate format ensuring compliance with our clients procedures
- Comply with the requirements of our clients Integrated Management System including Health & Safety, Environmental and all other appropriate regulations
- Prepare/check design approach, calculations, drawings and documents
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply best practice within the team environment
About you:
- Degree qualified, and Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/ IEng through ICE, or relevant equivalent professional qualification) or approaching achieving relevant professional qualification having completed the necessary training requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in Water / Wastewater Engineering
- Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite and relevant engineering software packages
- Good written and oral communication and organisational skills and to produce reports in clear concise English
- Desire to develop existing skills and acquire new technical competences to enhance personal and team capability
- Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines
- Client focused approach to service delivery
- Proven enthusiasm to embrace and participate in career development initiatives
- Full Driving Licence
